Sailboat Coming In Barcelona Port

Sailboat Coming In Barcelona Port [enlarge]

A sailboat coming in Barcelona Port towards the marina at Port Olympic. While on board of a Golondrina (swallow) which is the name of the sightseeing boats in Barcelona harbour, I took this picture of the vessel sailing past our wake. There in the background, you can see some tiny fishermen at the far end of the port's mouth. For a better idea about this area please follow this link to my Barcelona port label.

Recommended: Today I would like to suggest a new search engine implemented on top of Barcelona photoblog. This is a Google searchbox customized to look up for photography terms. It feeds from top photography sites and it is going to grow as I increase the number of sources. If you know about top-notch photography sites please drop me a line and I will add them right away.

I love the shot -- especially the boat outside of the picture hinted at by it's wake. Beautiful blues.

I had to explain in my blog why my posts last week were curt and canned.

-It was a bright day and I think it has to be deep right there since this is the main entrance to the port which is an important stopover in the Mediterranean for big cruisers and cargos. I really appreciate your visit.
- Thanks Steve. I also like the tilted sailboat.
- Hi Giuce. I agree with you. Being a sea lover, I am always mesmerized by wakes.

I can almost smell the sea and taste it's saltiness.

(The puppet show was quite good too)

I love this picture too. The deep blue of the sea is wonderful. After a busy day of sightseeing going on a Golondrina is a lovely way to relax.

Have you ever managed to get a photo of all of the fish that swim in the Port Vell area? They are huge.

I always feed them with colourful popcorn from the vendor that is there. The fish are like pirhanas when they battle for the popcorn.

-Thanks Denton. Your visit makes happy.
-Isn't that amazing. I mean living on the same street and meeting up here, talking about Barcelona.
Yes gary you are right. Fish are huge near the wooden platform of Maremagnum. I love to see them. That means waters are still not fully poluted. It depends on which part of the harbour you stand though. Barcelona port is not the cleanest in the Mediterranean :)
