Riding a Bike Near Arc de Triomf, Barcelona

Riding a Bike Near Arc de Triomf, Barcelona [enlarge]

There's not much I can say in this one. A man riding a small bike near famous Arc de Triomf in Barcelona. Passeig de Lluis Companys, which is the name of this promenade is a beautiful place to explore with your bicycle while taking care of the extra pounds. Our Arch of Triumph has been fully covered in Barcelona Photoblog and I recommend you follow the link as a starting point

Bicing Bicycle Station, Passeig de Lluís Companys, Barcelona

Bicing Bicycle Rack, Passeig Lluís Companys, Barcelona [enlarge]

A very common image in Barcelona city nowadays, that of a Bicing station with the usual rack of bikes. This one in particular is the one on the right side of Arc de Triomf monument at Passeig de Lluís Companys. I found the perspective kind of interesting so I thought of sharing it with you. Nice weekend!

Guided Bike Tours at La Barceloneta, Barcelona

Guided Bike Tours at La Barceloneta, Barcelona, Spain

I am not a biker myself but I have to admit riding bicycles is fun and at the same time helps to alleviate dense traffic in modern cities. Barcelona is more and more bike friendly thanks to the zeal of local authorities. On the wake of such events, travel agencies and tour operators found a gold streak and started offering guided bike tours covering popular spots in Barcelona. Perhaps riding along La Barceloneta beach is one of the most rewarding tours. Other posts showing groups of bikers listening to their tour guide were: Bike Tours in Barcelona Waterfront and Guided Bike Tours in Barcelona

Bike Tours in Barcelona Waterfront

Bike Tours in Barcelona

A bike tour along Barcelona waterfront spotted right in front of Hotel Arts at the end of the wharf nearby, the same day I took this other picture of a man and his bicycle. It was also a foggy morning, pretty much like the ones we are having lately. Yet these people seem to be having fun enjoying the view so imagine how great the experience must be in the spring on one of those bright sunny days watching sailboats coming into the marina or taking a swim after the long ride. Possibilities there are many in the city to go on private, tailor-made bike tours sightseeing landmarks or just the narrow streets of the old part of town and stopping for a refreshing beer and some tapas but finding the best route and the best company I leave up to you since that is not the purpose of this post.

Bike Rack on Las Ramblas de Barcelona

Bike Rack on Las Ramblas, Barcelona

About time I captured one of those images of mutilated bikes tied up somewhere for no apparent reason. Now that I finally made it (hooray!) I will try to forget it right away. Let's issue a formal complaint first: please, stop urinating on Las Ramblas! It smells and what's worse, it spoils my pictures. Yes, that blurry thing behind the bicycle fossil is nothing but a conspicuous stain left by humanoids on a booze spree. "Hey dude, enough moaning. Step out of the way. Can't you see that's my bike! And stop takin' pictures of my rack or I will get very pissed off".
