Walking the Dogs in Barcelona

Walking the dogs [enlarge]

Some posts call for a lot of words, a lot of information and such is the case of yesterday's article and many others are just images of daily life, snapshots, frozen moments that speak for themselves. In a way I prefer these sort of pictures, spontaneous acts of human activity like taking the dogs out for a walk. I was lucky there was this staircase from which you have a nice view over the forum area, right next to the famous big solar panel by the sea. A tiny couple getting lost in the distance along the many paths drawn by the floor tiles towards the sea, accompanied but the silence of the trees and the light.

Seaside View of the Solar Panel at Barcelona Forum

Seaside View of the Solar Panel at Barcelona Forum

This is a view of the huge solar panel overlooking the Forum esplanade, as seen from the sea while onboard one of Las Golondrinas, the sightseeing boats navigating both in the harbour and along the coast. Once you reach the Forum area it is time to turn around and navigate back. You never lose sight of this colossal piece of architecture. As the small boat is too far away to compare with the panel and get an idea of its true size I recommend you enlarge the picture and check those tiny people walking under the 10,500-m2 surface of the photovoltaic cell or solar panel. Check some old pictures of mine from other angles: Other side, underneath and the stairs.

Gathering Stones at Barcelona Forum

Gathering Stones at Barcelona Forum

This metal structure sustained with cable tensors and bags of stones as counterweight can be seen next to the new artificial "beach" created in the Forum area and it is my selection for participating in this week's Photo Friday contest. If you feel you have any picture that in a way has to do with something "Full" you may also take part and luckily be selected as noteworthy. Every week you have a different theme, to publish either a new photograph or some other from your archives.

Turning back to the image, it is funny that many of us here in Barcelona have not visited this fantastic place yet. The sights are incredible so I will be showing some more photos soon. To have something in advance you can check this panoramic view with the above structure included or if you prefer to watch the stones from another angle.
