Woman Covered With Flowers at Barcelona Cathedral

Woman Covered with Flowers

With this woman literally covered with flowers near Barcelona Cathedral I start my holidays 2017. Let the coming month of August be happy and amusing to many, to those fortunate enough to have some rest from the monotony of a day job. To those who don't, let these days be joyous too. This summer is being terribly hot in Barcelona so I hope this lady gets compensated somehow for her tremendous effort under the sun.

PS: I am trying to revamp the blog. It is taking more time than I thought. A great amount of pictures were hosted in Photobucket.com, a company whose malpractice has ruined the work of many bloggers who trusted them, including myself. I will never choose Photobucket again, you have my word on that!

Photo of Yellow Flowers at Ramblas Stall in Barcelona, Spain

Photo of Yellow Flowers at Ramblas Stall in Barcelona, Spain [enlarge]

A close look on a bunch of yellow flowers, possibly daisies, that remind me of sunflowers in a certain way. I am not a florist or an expert on botany so I leave it up to you to identify the right name. Now that you are with me visiting Las Ramblas flower stalls in Barcelona, why don't you check my whole flower set on Flickr. All of the images together are more luring.

Yellow Flowers Fantasy

Yellow Flowers Fantasy [enlarge]

This yellow flowers fantasy could be easily called Psychedelic Garden II since it is very similar to a previous post of mine. I took this picture in the cloister garden of Pedralbes Monastery which I will show you tomorrow and of course the original background was green.

Colored Flowers Bouquet Detail in La Rambla dels Flors, Barcelona

Colored Flowers Bouquet Detail in La Rambla dels Flors, Barcelona

Due the success the larger picture of flower bouquets in La Rambla dels Flors had, I have decided to perform a little cropping to show you a small detail of the image in my old post. I was wondering how the saturated colors of these artificial flowers would look against the black and white picture I posted yesterday. I want to thank Strangetastes from St. Louis Daily Photoblog for the kind suggestions about other members of the City Daily Photo group who are really good at taking black and white pictures.

Cactus Flowers

As I was missing my flower posts and I had a terrible need for colors again I've decided to display some tiny cacti full of "flowers". As I am not an expert in Botany here is a specific link to the so called cactus flowers. I try not to turn Barcelona Photoblog into a nature photography site but I am color addicted and I guess I am not the only one. To add some valuable content to the picture here is the web adress to the Botanic Garden of Barcelona.

Orange and Yellow Flowers at Sant Pau Hospital

Beautiful small orange and yellow flowers which I have seen many times before but I can't identify myself. I can tell you where I found them though: Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. Of course they are quite common and grow in many more places. If you happen to know the name please let me know.

Pear Tree Flowers

Pear Tree Flowers [enlarge]

Just some pear tree flowers I happened to shoot at the beginning of spring, if there ever was spring this year. Summer is already here, hot weather and all. Not that we had too many sunny days in the past two months.

Flowerbed

Flowerbed [enlarge]
Some flowerbed somewhere in some garden in the afternoon. Seasonal flowers to enjoy the colors of Spring. I thought they looked better from ground level. Very common flowers. I don't even know the name. Who cares? Just some beautiful flowers. Maybe you can classify them for me.

Orange are My Favorite Flowers

Orange are My Favorite Flowers

Orange is not my favorite color, at least not if compared to blue or purple but in photography it really makes a difference. I have seen extraordinary pictures that include such color, here are some: Orange is the new color
My orange flowers today, I believe, are roses and they are only a modest contribution.

Spring Infatuation: Purple Flowers

Spring Infatuation: Purple Flowers [enlarge]

Infatuation is defined as a foolish, unreasoning, or extravagant passion or attraction or an object of extravagant, short-lived passion. I couldn't think of a better word to express my mood in front of the color, the design, the equilibrium and symmetry of these insignificant purple flowers announcing the arrival of Spring.

Purple Flowers Fantasy in La Rambla de las Flores, Barcelona

Purple Flowers Fantasy [enlarge]

A close look on a bouquet of purple flowers in a stall at Rambla dels Flors. As you know Las Ramblas de Barcelona is divided into different sections which I won't recall here not to repeat myself. One of them though is La Rambla de las Flores, a group of flower stalls set along the way which help to create a special mood in this famous part of town.

Wild Yellow Flowers

Wild Yellow Flowers

These beautiful yellow flowers I dedicate to the memory of a very dear member of my wife's family. As a result of this sad event posts of November 25th and 26th have been uploaded past the corresponding date. I will soon browse all comments I have received from you during these days and try to get up to date. As bad things never come alone, my ISP has left me stranded precisely this weekend but I will do everything within my reach to publish on a daily basis.

See the photograph at the introduction of this article for the beauty of Sagrada Familia. This is an unfinished Roman Catholic church, which had a multitude of world-famous architects working in unison on the project. Construction began in 1882. At its highest point, the cathedral stands 566’ tall.

Barcelona has any jaw-dropping wedding venues that are available to you. These venues leave nothing to chance. Every detail is addressed, and you can rest easy knowing your wedding plans are being attended to even when you are not physically there.

Now is the time to book your venues, and Barcelona gives you plenty of choices.

Regarding Wedding Budgets

When it comes to weddings, budgets can help a couple start their new life together on a financially responsible track. It will also help you start that new life without a huge debt!

On average, couples in the US spend almost $26,000 on their weddings, with only half paying less than $15,000. That’s a huge amount for one event, even if you consider everything that goes into a wedding.

The good news: regardless of your income, you can set a budget, stick to it, and still enjoy a beautiful day with your spouse-to-be, friends, and family!

To create your budget you have to consider what’s financially feasible. If you think you’ll only be able to save up $5,000, for example, then set that as your budget and break it down into uses, such as venue, formal wear, flowers, photography, food, etc.

It may also help to identify the things that matter most to you and your fiance. Is throwing a party with great food and drinks the most important? Do you want to focus on having beautiful flowers and photos you’ll cherish for the rest of your life? By knowing what matters most, you can put that first in your budget and divide the rest for the basics.

You can also get a little more frugal with certain aspects of the wedding, such as sending e-invitations instead of paper ones. You’ll save on the cost of material, printing, and postage--money that can be used elsewhere!

Flower Classification Wanted!

Flower Classification Wanted! Taxonomers, Botanists, Gardeners please help! [enlarge]

In another shameful and flagrant act of ignorance and neglection this blogger dares to post another photograph of flowers without even knowing the family, the genus and the species' scientific and common names. Taxonomy lovers must be scratching the back of their necks compulsively, twitching their eyes involuntarily while trying to assimilate this. Well yes, I just know it is a flower. Since this blog is photography oriented, or disoriented sometimes, it is not always prepared to detach from the pixels and light path. There have been some sad stories in the past of Barcelona Photoblog when I dared to mistake a moth for a hummingbird. On the other hand, why losing the opportunity to show you flower pictures just for the sake of beauty. Besides, were you born being called Rose or Hyacinth?, are you going to be ignored if you don't have a name?. I don't think so. In the end, they will give you a name, a simple name, flower or in your case, human being. I advice you to follow this youtube video link, sit and relax.
I quote: In the garden, growth has its seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again.

Flowers on the Window

Flowers on Window [enlarge]
On the same line as yesterday's post, let's continue with the spring flower topic on Barcelona Photoblog. While I find time to resume my photowalks around Barcelona what better than sharing some colors or some views that delighted my eyes in Spring.

Cactus Flowers in Las Ramblas Stall

Nature's designs come in many ways, some are blatantly horrendous, some are subtle and beautiful as these tiny cacti flowers I found at a stall in Las Ramblas de Barcelona.

Well Guarded Thorny Cactus

Well Guarded Thorny Cactus or Every Rose Has Its Thorn

Well guarded secrets have been protected by the sword for centuries and so does nature sometimes with her treasures in many ways. These small flowers perhaps are meant to carry the fruit of this cactus in the long run so they are better kept somewhere safe among these deterrent daggers. Only insects allowed.
Two interesting links I stumbled upon today: Sidewalk Chalk Guy and Lost Cities.

Pink Flowers Fantasy in Rambla dels Flors, Barcelona

Pink Flowers Fantasy in Rambla dels Flors, Barcelona [enlarge]

And as one is never enough here goes my second post on flower stalls along Rambla dels Flors. Another bouquet, this time a pink bouquet or is it magenta? Well who cares! The thing is it must be nice to see this on the front page along with the previous post. Call me weird but I sometimes like to combine pictures according to colors in my blog, I find it interesting. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Have a nice day my friends.

Purple Flower Plant

To keep my virtual online "flower shop" alive and to quench the thirst of some avid photo bloggers that come here often for an inspirational image to post on their blog as is the case of Happy Catholic for example, I appreciate that, we show you here today a little patch of purple flowers which I think are daisies but of course can be anything else depending on the taxonomy book you're using or the image footer you are borrowing it from on the internet. I never thought I would devote so much time to flowers but photography as well as life is full of exciting detours.
