Three little kids in their carnival costumes last February in Barcelona. Concentrated, looking at bigger students parading in fancy outfits. I didn't ask them to stand still, they were like statues themselves pricking their ears and absorted. What do you see when you contemplate this scene? Do you still see the child inside yourself? Do you remember you once lived in the age of innocence? If only we could be in their shoes, at least spiritually, and rediscover colors, fantasy, nice smells, euphoria, laughter, the warmth of our parents' hands and see only kindness in our peers' eyes. I don't take many photos of kids but I really enjoyed these young little adults.
Carlos, You took a perfect picture of childhood innocence full of wonder. Your questions are good ones. I think of what lies ahead of them and wish that the life of protection that they now lead (at least I hope so) will stay with them 'til the end of their days.Whenever I observe children I am filled with fear for them because of the world of violence that seems to be spreading throughout the globe, while at the same time I have confidence in the goodness of humans with their imagination and creativity.
ReplyDeleteWell if you look at them with their futures in mind then the story is different. Who knows what this world will be like when they are in their 80s or what they had to endure to get there.

this is just gorgeous, lovely children. They have that wonderful look of concentration that children have when they are totally lost in an activity/film/story....wonderful
ReplyDelete....anyway,they are really the lovely angels of Barcelona!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be great if we could keep some of that wonderful childhood innocence into our adult lives?
