Canon's House, Barri Gotic, Barcelona

Canon's House, Barri Gotic, Barcelona [enlarge]

At Bisbe Irurita Street in Barri Gotic there's this beautiful house called Casa de los Canónigos (Canon's House). Today I show you a detail of a sort of bas-relief you can admire on its façade while walking down the street towards Sant Jaume square. Read all the details about Casa dels Canonges.

Isn't this bas-relief on the opposite side from the Canon's house, on the Palau de la Generalitat side of the street?

Yes, you are absolutely right. The fact is that the bas-relief is to the right when you walk down Bisbe Irurita street towards Sant Jaume so obviously it is on one of La Generalitat's building walls and not the Casa dels Canonges façade so I was mistaken as to the right side of the road. Both buildings are communicated by the arch but that happened later so obviously it belongs to the Palau. Thanks so much for making this important correction my friend.

So, was this bas relief (complete with gargoyles, I recall) newly created in the 1920s rather than being actually medieval?
